Lusophone Society of Goa (LSG) is organizing the 1st “Lusofonia Festival Goa 2015”. From February 20 to March 20 there will be several cultural events aiming to promote the culture of the Lusophone countries and regions focusing this year Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Macau, Portugal and Timor Leste.<\/p>\n

Highlight of the Festival is the photography exhibition “Voyage to the East in the 19th Century”. Photographies of 19th Century. An extraordinary collection of photographies from the time of earliest photography techniques.\u00a0 From Lisbon to Timor crossing Suez Canal and passing through Egypt, Mumbai, Goa, Daman, Nagar Haveli, Sri Lanka, Indonesia. This exhibition is organized by LSG in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture North, Museum of Lamego (Portugal), Directorate of Art and Culture (Goa), Goa Tourism Development Corporation and Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Oriente.<\/p>\n

\nThe authors will give examples of conservation in Portugal and in Goa for a\u00a0 better understanding of \u00a0similarities and different points of view.<\/p>\n

Photography exhibition “A glimpse of Macau”
\n<\/strong>Inauguration with the presence of the author Margarida Fernandes on March 7, 5.30 pm at Art Gallery, Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panjim
\nOpening time: March 8 to 19, from 10 am to 5 pm, every day. Entry free.
\n<\/em>The Photographies of Margarida Fernandes give a good perspective of the daily life in Macau. The author was able to catch the special extaordinary mixture of Chinese and Portuguese culture in Macau: the city has a decidedly European ambiance although most of the people who live there are Chinese. There are a number of celebrations which combine both Portuguese and Chinese customs so you will be able to see things in the photographs exposed that you wouldn’t see anywhere else.<\/p>\n
