The relevance of Goa<br \/>\n<em>Eduardo Faleiro is an Indian politician and former Federal Minister. In September 2006, he was the Commissioner of Non-Resident Indians for the Government of Goa.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>10.00 <\/strong>\u2013 Video presentation. Prof. Cristovam Buarque: \u201cBrazil and India: Social Challenger\u201d.<br \/>\n<em>Cristovam Buarque is a Brazilian university professor. He is currently a senator for the Federal District. Buarque earned a PhD in Economics from the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Paris.<\/em> <em>Buarque is a member of Institute of Education of UNESCO. Prof. Roberto Saturnino Braga, President of Centro Internacional Celso Furtado, Rio de Janeiro: \u201dIndia and Brazil: Powers of Peace\u201d<br \/>\n<em>Roberto Saturnino Braga graduated in civil and economic engineering. He had a long political life, as a councillor, federal deputy and senator for three terms, and was the first mayor of Rio de Janeiro elected by direct popular vote. He presides over the International Celso Furtado Center for Development Policies and the Casa Grande Cultural Institute, both in Rio de Janeiro.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><strong>11.15 <\/strong>\u2013 Video presentation. Prof. Miguel \u00c1ngel Arellano, senior technician of the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology (Instituto Brasileiro de Informa\u00e7\u00e3o em Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia \u2013 IBICT), a research unit under Brazil\u2019s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation: &#8220;Digitization and preservation of historical documents of Goa: a joint project&#8221;<br \/>\n<em>Miguel \u00c1ngel Arellano graduated in Social Anthropology from the National Institute of Anthropology and History INAH (1985), obtained a master&#8217;s degree in Information Sciences from the University of Brasilia (1998) and a PhD in Information Sciences from the University of Brasilia (2008). He has been working at the Brazilian Institute for Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) since 1997, and is coordinator of the Brazilian Network of Digital Preservation Services CARINIANA. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>11.45 <\/strong>\u2013 Video presentation. Prof Liedi Bernucci, Director of School of Engineering (Poli) of University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP): \u201cThe use of tropical lateritic soils for road construction in Brazil: 50 years of experience\u201d<br \/>\n<em>Liedi Bernucci has a master&#8217;s degree in Civil Engineering from University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP). She obtained a PhD at Institut f\u00fcr Grundbau und Bodenmechanik of Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule Z\u00fcrich, Switzerland.
