International Congress, January 14 and 15, 2014 – Goa, India

Organized by Lusophone Society of Goa (LSG)
in collaboration with CII – Confederation of Indian Industry, IdEA – Institute of Asian Studies and AAPI – Friendship Association Portugal-India

Key ideas of the Congress:

Common platform. The Congress should be a first attempt to establish a global common platform doing business between India and the Lusophone countries. Bilateral trade is narrowing and restricting the potential of trade between India and the 250 million Portuguese speaking people of the Lusophone countries.

Responsible business. More responsible businesses can foster more growth in India and the Lusophone countries. Social business, as defined by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, shall focus on providing a product and/or service with a specific social, ethical and environmental goal. This is also one of the main aims of this Congress.

Enhancing economy and social cohesion. The Congress should contribute to enhance economy, trade and social cohesion in India. The contacts during the Congress should contribute to promote investment in diverse sectors (industry, commerce, tourism and services).
